Inspired by Josie Meeker—a teenage hero of the Old West
The Trailblazers Club and accompanying book, Josie Meeker: Frontier Girlboss, bring to life the true story of Josephine "Josie" Meeker, a courageous teen whose challenges and triumphs resonate with today’s young readers.

Josie wasn’t your typical girl of the 1870s. She climbed 14ers, raced horses, attended business school, wore what she wanted, and built bridges with other cultures—all in a time when these choices broke societal norms.

Adventure through history during the pivotal Gilded Age
Your child will journey through 1870s Colorado, meeting extraordinary figures and uncovering events that helped shape the modern world, including:

  • Suffrage leaders like Susan B. Anthony and Anna Dickinson
  • Thinkers like Helen Hunt Jackson and Dr. Alida Avery
  • Ute leaders such as Chipeta, She-towitch, and Chief Ouray
  • Horace Greeley, Nathan Meeker, and P.T. Barnum

As a Trailblazer, your child will:

  • Explore history: Learn how Josie’s courage, compassion, and resilience shaped history.
  • Take on challenges: Engage in creative activities that spark critical thinking and adventure.
  • Earn points and badges: Track progress, unlock achievements, and celebrate accomplishments.
  • Shape Josie’s story: Contribute ideas that influence the book’s characters and plot.
